Barbara Taylor, Ph.D, is an Associate Professor of Biology in Neuroscience and Director of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity (URSA). Barbara completed her undergraduate work in Biology at the University of British Columbia, Canada, received a M.S. in Marine Biology in 1990 and a Ph.D. in Marine Biology from the University of British Columbia in 1997. Following postdoctoral positions at the University of Calgary and Dartmouth Medical School, she moved to the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2003.
Elizabeth Belknap has been the URSA Coordinator since early in 2012. She has worked at UAF since 1999, primarily as a grant manager for science and health care training projects. At URSA, Elizabeth is tasked with developing a student tracking system, organizing URSA events, soliciting grant applications, and assisting the Director in all URSA activities. She received a Bachelor of General Science degree from UAF in 1990, and has lived in Alaska for 30 years.
