SUBJECT Nation's Top University and College Recruiters Meet at UAF
LOCATION UAF Patty Center
DATE & TIME Sept. 28, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks is hosting more than 100 representatives of universities, colleges, technical schools and the armed services at a College Fair Monday morning, Sept. 28, at the UAF Patty Center. This is the first time UAF has hosted the event, which gives junior and senior high school students and their parents an opportunity to discuss the variety of educational opportunities available to them.
UAF's executive director of admissions and enrollment management Mike Mills said students from throughout the Interior can use the fair to gather information about different types of colleges private and public, Alaskan and Outside so they can make informed decisions about their ultimate selection of a school.
"It's also an opportunity for Alaskan students to see how favorably UAF stacks up to other national universities," Mills said. "Whichever university a student selects, a college fair provides an opportunity to speak with representatives from the schools," he said. "And that's something you can't get from a Web site or a brochure."
The fair begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. Presentations are scheduled throughout the morning.
