Local CPA firm Cook & Haugeberg will announce the latest development in their partnership with UAF's business school at a meeting for invited business, government and non-profit CPAs, students and others on Thursday, July 30.

According to Cook & Haugeberg's Mike Cook, his firm has had a long and productive relationship with UAF. He estimates that between 55 and 60 UAF graduates have been hired by the firm over the past three decades.

"We've hired UAF graduates because they do an excellent job. It is reflective of UAF's curriculum, faculty and educational system," Cook said.

Jerry Haugeberg and Mike Cook will announce the creation of a new, endowed scholarship for UAF accounting students on Thursday. Scholarship details, including the amount of the donation which creates the endowment and who the scholarship will be named after, will be announced during a presentation at 5 p.m. at Cook & Haugeberg's office at 119 N. Cushman St., Suite 300.
