FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fairbanks, Alaska - The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, a private foundation with corporate offices in Vancouver, Wash. and Tucson, Ariz., has provided more than $300,000 for education and scientific research programs at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, including more than a quarter-million dollars worth of laboratory equipment for UAF's Water and Environmental Research Center. Recently Murdock trustees toured the WERC laboratory at UAF to learn more about the lab equipment being used to enhance student education in the environmental sciences, including remediation studies of oil-contaminated soils and contaminated groundwater sites.
