SUBJECT                Permafrost Announces its Annual Literary Contests

Could you use $100? Permafrost, the UAF literary journal, is offering a crisp Ben Franklin bank note and a promise of publication for first place winners in the poetry, fiction and non-fiction categories.

Poetry submissions should be limited to thirty-six pages. All fiction and non-fiction entries should be double-spaced and limited to thirty pages.

All entries must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope and a $10 reading fee which includes a one-year subscription to Permafrost. Send submissions to Permafrost--Contest Division, English Department, P.O. Box 755720, University of Alaska Fairbanks, Fairbanks, AK, 99775. The deadline for submissions is March 15, 1998.
