SUBJECT:           Alaska Educators Job Fair

LOCATION:         Wood Center Ballroom, UAF campus

DATE & TIME:     June 8-11, 1997

Up to 30 of the state's 54 public school districts are expected to participate in the Alaska Educators Summer Job Fair June 8-11 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. About 400 to 450 job seekers will travel to Fairbanks from throughout Alaska, the Lower 48 and Canada to attend the fair, which is unusually large this year because of vacancies created by the state's Early Retirement Incentive Program.

The recruitment fair, sponsored by UAF's Alaska Teacher Placement office, brings together educators looking for professional opportunities and school administrators looking for teachers. District representatives will be interviewing candidates for current and anticipated openings for the upcoming school year and providing information about their districts.

The fair offers educators an avenue to employment and provides an opportunity to learn more about the state's educational system. The ATP registration fee of $100 includes attendance at the summer job fair.
