SUBJECT:            UAF Hosts Emerging Leaders Conference

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host the Emerging Leaders Institute June 11 - 15, 2002 on the Fairbanks campus. Students from 20 Alaska high schools will be participating in workshops and challenge activities designed to improve leadership skills.

“UAF will come alive with the best and the brightest high school student leaders from throughout the state,” said institute coordinator Carrie Dershin.

The UAF Emerging Leaders Institute will provide students an opportunity to identify and improve their leadership skills through workshops, activities and presentations including college success skills, personal leadership assessment and goal setting.

Keynote speakers include Glenn Hackney, Ossie Kairaiuak, Dante Foster, George Cromer and David Leone.
