LOCATION: Across the UAF campus
DATE & TIME: Tuesday, July 18 beginning at 10 a.m.
DETAILS:
The armored knights in sword fights are sure to be enchanting, but flirting with the cheap floozies could mean a trip to jail the Golden Days Jail, that is. The historical hoosegow will be on hand Tuesday, July 18 as the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus celebrates an annual Tanana Valley tradition.
Festivities kick off with a free, spellbinding walking tour of campus beginning at 10 a.m. with a special visit to the Rainey-Skarland cabin. In the afternoon, campus visitors can enjoy two ice cream socials, a barbecue lunch at the Geophysical Institute, and see exhibits and shows at the UA Museum of the North.
Highlighting this year's celebration is KUAC's Family Day, with events from 12-5 p.m. The day includes a visit from Arthur the Aardvark, a contest featuring "Wishbone Wanna-Bes" at 1:30 p.m. and a parade to follow in front of the Charles W. Davis Concert Hall.
