HONORS STUDENTS NAMED AT UAF

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 8, 1999

Fairbanks, Alaska - The students on the attached list have been named to the Dean's or Chancellor's List at the University of Alaska Fairbanks in recognition of outstanding academic achievements during the summer 1999 semester.

Honors students receiving all "A's" or a 4.0 grade point average are placed on the Chancellor's List, while those receiving an "A-" average of between 3.5 and 3.99 G.P.A. are named to the Dean's List.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks is a land-, sea- and space-grant institution, with an enrollment of 8,235 students. Located 160 miles south of the Arctic Circle, UAF is the only university in Alaska offering classes at the Ph.D. level.

Since its founding in 1917, UAF has grown to become an internationally recognized institution with a focus on research relating to the arctic and sub-arctic, including biology, geophysics, space physics, engineering, natural resources and global climate change.
