Email templates

To set up template:

  1. In Gmail, go to Settings>Labs.
  2. Scroll to "Canned Responses" and click "Enable."
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and click "Save Changes."
  4. Open the UAF email template in a new window.
  5. Ctrl+A (Command+A for Macs) to select everything on the page.
  6. Ctrl+C (Command+C for Macs) to copy everything on the page.
  7. Return to Gmail and Compose a new message.
  8. Click in the message body and Ctrl+V (Command+V for Macs) to paste the template contents into your message.
  9. In the lower right corner of your message, click the down-arrow for more options.
  10. In the pop-up options menu, select Canned responses>Save>New canned response...
  11. Name the template and then proceed to edit the message with your own contents.

Optional: Follow these instructions to insert images into your message.

To use an already-set-up template:

  1. Open Gmail and Compose a new message.
  2. In the lower right corner of your message, click the down-arrow for more options.
  3. In the pop-up options menu, select Canned responses>Insert>[Name of previously saved template].
