SUBJECT: Stop a Cop and Get a Trading Card
The University of Alaska Fairbanks Police Department is joining police departments across the nation in an officers' trading card program.
The cards have the officers' photograph on one side and biographical information on the other. The first member of the Fairbanks community to get all 10 cards complete with the featured officers' signature will win either a semester's parking decal or a $50 gift certificate at the UAF Bookstore. The offer ends Dec. 20.
"The trading card program is giving the community a chance to meet the police on a positive note," said University Police Department Chief Terry Vrabec, "and to learn who the officers are."
The contest is open to students, faculty, staff and anyone in the Fairbanks area interested in participating. By offering personalized cards, the police department is trying to become better acquainted with the community, said Vrabec.
