Fairbanks, Alaska - The attached list of students from your paper's general circulation area have been named to honors lists at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) in recognition of outstanding academic achievements during the spring 1996 semester.
To be selected for the Chancellor's List, a full-time undergraduate student must have received all "A's" or 4.0 grade point average (G.P.A.). Those receiving an "A-" average of between 3.5 and 3.99 G.P.A. were named to the Dean's List.
Student enrollment at UAF for the past semester was just over 9,000, with about 6,000 at the main campus in Fairbanks.
UAF is the state's land, sea and space grant institution and the only university in Alaska offering classes at the Ph.D. level. Equidistant from major economic centers of Europe, North America and the Pacific Rim, Fairbanks is Alaska's second largest city, located about 160 miles south of the Arctic Circle. Known internationally for its high latitude social and scientific studies, UAF is a leader in arctic research, arctic biological sciences and cold weather engineering.
