Stephen Rice and Gina Weymiller, center, are seniors in UAFs criminal justice program and each received $500 memorial scholarships. Both students plan careers in Alaska law enforcement.
The scholarships are in memory of Alaska State Troopers Skip Chevalier and Troy Duncan, officers killed in the line of duty. The scholarships are awarded yearly to outstanding justice students at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
