SUBJECT:            Campus Offices Closed for Holidays

LOCATION:           UAF Campus

Final exams are taking place this week and it's a busy time at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. But only for a couple of more days. On Dec. 22 it will turn quiet at UAF. The last day of finals is Thursday, Dec. 21 and residence halls close at noon on Friday as students leave to spend the holidays with their families and get a break from academic life.

UAF will officially close for the holidays at the end of business Friday, Dec. 22. Offices will reopen for regular business on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001 and classes begin again Jan. 18. During UAF's holiday closure, only essential services will continue with minimal staff.

The UAF Bookstore, Patty Center, the Student Recreation Center, Wood Center and the Rasmuson Library will be open for limited hours during the holiday break. The UA Museum of the North will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily during the holiday closure. A UAF holiday hours listing is located at: http://www.uaf.edu/univrel/holiday.html
