Toolik Field Station - IAB - UAF GPS BASE STATION README - 2003 ====================================================== BASE COORDINATE WGS84, HAE 68.62753149N, 149.5977264W, 731.947m The base coordinate is derived from an average of six days of continuous data in early June 2001. 8 base files were also processed against a temporary survey grade base in 2002. The dual frequency survey data coordinate was set using three CORS stations (FAIR, CENA, PBOC). The cross comparison yielded results within 10cm horizontal and 25cm vertical for the two base solutions. Absolute accuracy for the above coordinate is estimated to be within 20cm horizontal and 50cm vertical. These data DO NOT conform to NGS CORS standards. http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/CORS/Site_selec_crit.html ====================================================== EQUIPMENT Base files were collected using a Trimble ProXR receiver with a standard, mapping grade, L1 antenna. The antenna is mounted on a secure mast above the Winter Lab building at Toolik Field Station, mile 284.5 Dalton Highway, Alaska. Neither the mast nor the building has a concrete foundation, resting instead on a compacted gravel pad. Small errors of unknown magnitude may result from subtle shifts and/or settling of the building and gravel pad. ====================================================== SOFTWARE Base data are collected using Trimble Reference Station 1.02 on a Windows2000 operating system. Files are delivered in a standard, zipped format. ====================================================== CONTACT Any questions or problems should be addressed to: Andrew W.
