The Lee H. Salisbury Theatre is the best equipped theatre in Fairbanks, and the facility rivals the best in the country... outstanding for an undergraduate design and performance space!
The house seats 468 in American (aisles only on the sides) style seating. The house was recently repainted (1994), new carpeting installed (1995) and we're working on
refurbishing the seats currently.
The proscenium opening is 45' wide, 22'-6" tall and has a hydraulic orchestra pit 12' deep (in center) that goes a full one-and-one-half-stories down from stage level.
There are 40 traps located throughout the stage floor and a compete counter-weight system backstage.
Because the Lab Theatre is located directly behind the Main stage and the shop is off to one side, there is more than ample backstage room.
