Testing Services

UAF Testing Services coordinates the following exams:

Credit by Examination
Students may ask to challenge any course not ending in -90 or -00 by completing a Credit by Examination form and presenting it to the appropriate department or the instructor of the course being challenged. It is up to the discretion of the department or instructor to decide which courses can be challenged, testing method and grading procedures. Credit By Examination forms are available through the link below or at Testing Services. The fee is $40 per credit hour and must be paid prior to taking exams.

Library Competency Examination
Testing Services offers the Library Competency Examination to students wanting to challenge LS 101X. There is no credit awarded for passing this test, however a passing score of 85 percent substitutes for this degree requirement. If you would like to register for the Library Competency Examination, print out the LCE form (PDF 18K) and return it to Testing Services. The fee is $25 for the test and it is offered via Blackboard or paper/pencil in Testing Services. If you want to take the computerized Blackboard format, you must have an active Blackboard account that you have logged into; otherwise, you will be given the paper/pencil format.
