*New Rental System*
As of June 25th, 2013 we have moved to a rolling release system. This means that we will no longer have large releases each semester or have a waitlist.
Instead, all available bikes in the shop will be released every TUESDAY on a first come first serve basis. Each rental will be for three months. We will announce the available bike sizes on our website and our Facebook page every Monday.
If you are interested in renting, watch this page next Monday to see if we will have a bike that fits you! Hope to see you Tuesday!
$20 Long Term Student Rentals
Limited to Current UAF Students. For Staff/Faculty/Alumni, Check the Short Term and Buy-In Sections Below.
The majority of our fleet is dedicated to keeping students on bikes for a limited cost. We loan them out for 3 months at a time, but require that you come in every 4 weeks for a checkup; we'll show you how to tune up your bike. If you are interested in one of these bikes, here's what you need to do:
- Check this page every Monday to see if we have a bike in your size.
- Come in during our office hours any Tuesday. Make sure to get there early as bikes are rented on a first come first serve basis.
- Bring your polar express card and helmet; if you don't own a helmet you can buy one for $35.
- Be prepared to pay a $20 rental fee (through credit, debit, check, or cash)
Bikes will not be held for people who do not have all the required materials (polar express card, helmet and a means of making the deposit and rental fee).
$100 Buy-In Option for UAF Affiliates
Limited to UAF Staff, Alumni, Faculty and Family Members
UAF affiliates may pay an annual user fee of $100 to have access to all program services, including long-term rentals. After this $100 fee they still pay normal user fees (e.g. the $20 fee for long-term checkout). Students do not fall under this option because they have already paid the SIREN fee as part of their tuition.

Short-Term Rentals
We have a limited number of mountain bikes set aside for rental durations from one day, all the way up to a week. These bikes are available to everyone, including non-students. Current fee schedule is as follows.
Normal Bikes

Rent the Pedal Powered PA System!
Bring sustainability and movement to your party or event! Our sound system hooks up to a bicycle and uses human power to run. To rent, simply swing by the Nordic House during the regular office hours between 10:00am and 7:00pm Monday through Friday. Come in and ask about rates if you are interested.
