The students, known as the University of Alaska Coalition of Student leaders, have hopes of gaining full funding for the University of Alaska from this year's state budget. UAF employees can speak with journalists or the public about their opinions, or even about official university matters, so long as they make clear that statements they make are their own and not the university's, said University Public Relations Director Kate Ripley.
