Police Blotter

Editorial: So long Nate

This has been an incredible semester for me at the Sun Star.  Most of the credit for that fact lies firmly with my fabulous staff.  I have the hardest working, most dedicated staff on the planet.  They sacrifice their time, their sleep, and even their sanity to put out the best paper they can each and every week.

Letter to the Editor

I just want so say nice job to the UAF Film Club for their presentation on Thursday, December 9.  There was a wide variety of films, some funny, some offensive, and some just plain weird--which is what you might expect to get on a college campus.

The number of different mediums and variety within the mediums was truly remarkable, considering the limited resources of the University...

Zymurgy (Beer Brewing) 101

Somehow, someway, a gift from the gods called beer is produced. It doesn't just miraculously show up nicely packaged and ready for your eager taste buds to try at your local liquor store. Beer brewing is grand science experiment that has been practiced ever since our ancestors were walking like an Egyptian. As an avid taster of good beer, I began my leap of faith to producing and bottling a brew that was crafted by my own two hands...

Film Club delivers one heck of a festival

The 4th annual Great Alaskan Film Festival and Murder Mystery went off without a hitch last Thursday night.  The fest's line-up included over fifteen films all written, created, and edited by students. Organized and sponsored by the UAF Film Club, the festival boasted a packed house at the Salisbury Theater...
