For Krynn Finstad this is her third straight year on the All Academic Team.  For Korthaur, Habermann and Anna and Julia Coulter this is their second year being named to the GNAC All Academic Team, and for everyone else this is their first year to receive All Academic Honors.

“I think it's a great indication of what kind of athletes we have on our team: they are very bright and hard working,” said head coach Scott Jerome in a press release. “Some of our best athletes are also the best students in the university. That really says a lot about how much our cross country athletes are able to accomplish and where their priorities lie.”

Men’s Basketball teams falls to California

Nanooks lost to the Division 1 California Golden Bears 100-42 at Berkeley California on November 8th.  The Nooks faced a major height disadvantage with California having no fewer than five players over six foot ten.  The Nanooks led only once during the game, taking an early 5-4 lead on a Colin Matteson three pointer, but from then on the Golden Bears kept the momentum.  The Nooks could only manage to shoot twenty four percent while the Golden Bears shot for over fifty percent in both halves.

The Nanooks are home for their next game which is the BP Top of the World Classic.  Their game tips off Thursday at 6:00 at the Carlson Center where the Nooks will face Tennessee State.

Nanooks lose to Michigan 4-0

The Michigan Wolverines scored three late goals during the course of seven minutes to take the game 4-0 in Michigan on Nov. 8.  The Wolverines outscore the Nooks 8-6 while goaltender Billy Sauer recorded 15 contributing to his third career shutout.  Despite their loss Nooks goaltender Chad Johnson had 22 saves.

The ‘Nooks had a chance in the third period to start a comeback when Michigan’s Brian Lebler was assessed a five minute penalty as well as a game misconduct.  However the Nooks couldn’t manage a shot during its power play.

Michigan widened their gap between the Nooks with a goal from Travis Turnbull and then again forty second later with a goal by Aaron Palushaj.  Kevin Porter then scored again for the Wolverines in the final two minutes to take the win 4-0.
