Proud film fest continues

The next film in the Out and Proud Film Fest is Pedro Almodovar's film "Bad Education," which deals with the molestation of young boy by his teacher and priest and the subsequent trauma he faces as an adult.

The festival features movies with lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and trans-gendered themes and is sponsored by the Student Activities Office.

The free film screening will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Hess Recreation Center. Movies will also be shown in the Pub on Mondays.

Poetry slam on campus Friday

A free student-featured and organized poetry slam will take place Friday in the Wood Center.

"With this event I was hoping to get more people excited about poetry and slamming," said event organizer Nicole Allum. "It should be a really fun time."

People who are interested in slamming can contact her at 455-3330.

The event is at Friday at 8 p.m. in the Wood Center Ballroom.

Choir concert welcomes spring

The Choir of the North and the elite choral group the Alaska Camerata will perform together in a performance to herald in spring.

The annual concert, directed by John Hopkins, is Friday at 8 p.m. in the Davis Concert Hall.

Admission is $5 to students with Polar Express cards and $10 general admission.
