90 percent of median?
I'm curious as to why Mark Hamilton's salary is set the way it is.
Why the arbitrary number of 90 percent of the median salary of similar university presidents?
Shouldn't it be tied in some measure to the performance of the UA in specified areas (for example, academic testing scores, amount of research, or enrollment numbers)?
And why 90 percent? Isn't that like admitting that the UA is only 90 percent as good as the median of other similar university systems (which puts us pretty far down the respectability list)?
Maybe the regents don't have a very high view of our system.
Perhaps his vehicle and housing allowance makes up for the difference, although I would assume that other university presidents receive similar benefits.
Can you look into this story a bit more?
