The Nanooks scored a 57-46 win Friday night against Brigham Young University-Hawaii but lost 64-52 Saturday against Fort Lewis despite a good second half.

Leading the Nanook scoring both evenings was junior guard Karen Reabold, who contributed 16 points on Friday and 20 of the 52 points Saturday, earning Toyota Player of the game and All-Tournament Team honors.

Reabold was so intimidating Fort Lewis chanted her name whenever she was passed the ball. The home crowd at the Patty Center responded by yelling "shut up!" over the cries of "Kar-i"

Friday's game was a struggle for Hawaii. The team attempted to defend a fierce offensive attack by the Nanooks and managed to rally five unanswered points in the last minutes of the first period. But Hawaii was still down by 10 at the half.

During the second half, the Seasiders managed to shut down the 'Nooks outside shot, but made 4 out of nine three point attempts themselves. The leading scorers were sisters Latoya and Artevia Willy who totaled a combined 21 points

Alaska defense slacked off after the half, allowing 30 points in the second period. The 'Nooks managed stayed ahead by scoring 31 points of their own.

The most impressive aspect of Alaska's play was free throws. They made 27 of 36 and got 81 percent after the half.

Anchorage trumped Hawaii as well winning 85-54 in game three of the Glacier Classic Saturday. The Seawolves also won game one against Fort Lewis, 62-45.

In Game four the Nooks played Fort Lewis, Alaska fell behind at the beginning. The Fort Lewis Skyhawks managed to score 7 unanswered points in the first three-and-a-half minutes.

Fort Lewis had the advantage at the half with the score of 36-18.

Alaska won the second period outscoring Lewis 34-28 by getting offensive and defensive rebounds. However the 'Nooks were unable to overcome the deficit of the first period despite reckless fouls by their opponents.

The leading scorer for the Seahawks was freshman guard Katie Mackey who made 5 rebounds and scored 13 points. Also notable was the performance of fellow freshman Laura Haugen with 11 points and 4 rebounds in her 24 minutes of play.

Alaska shot 27.5 percent Saturday against the Skyhawks, who made 38 percent of field goals and 5 of 16 of three pointers. The 'Nooks were 0-10 for three-pointers.
