PAROLE VIOLATION
Authorities arrested Laura Merculief for a parole violation after she tried to assault two males Nov. 25, police said.
The UAF Police Department assisted Alaska State Troopers after receiving a call that an intoxicated female, Merculief, was trying to assault the males on University Avenue shortly before 3 a.m., police said.
The males told arriving officers that a vehicle had almost hit Merculief, police said. But when they tried to help her, she tried to assault them, police said. The males then detained her until police arrived, police said.
Under the terms of her parole, Merculief is not allowed to consume alcohol.
WARRANT ARREST
Police pulled over a vehicle on Taku Drive on Nov. 17 around 1 p.m. for not properly signaling. Erik Schroeder, 26, of Fairbanks was arrested after police discovered an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was also violating his parole conditions, police said. Police charged him and took him to Fairbanks Correctional Center.
MARIJUANA
An officer pulled-over a vehicle on North Tanana Drive on Nov. 22 around 1:24 a.m. Jeremiah Davidson, 20, of Nenana had made an improper turn, police said.
Upon contacting Davidson, the officer smelt a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car, police said. Davidson told the officer he had a small quantity of marijuana in the vehicle and also some alcohol.
Police cited him for marijuana possession and minor consuming alcohol.
DUI
Police arrested Brandon Mattzela after he refused a Breathalyzer test, police said.
Mattzela, 28, of Fairbanks was pulled over Nov. 19 around 2 a.m. at the corner of Thompson Drive and Circle after he failed to properly signal, police said. Police found he had been driving after drinking, but he refused to take a test, police said.
STOLEN
Police received a report Nov. 20 at 4:30 p.m. of stolen boots from the women's locker room of the Student Recreation Center.
VEHICLE ACCIDENTS
Police received a report of a motor vehicle hitting a parked car in the Hess Village parking lot on Nov. 17 shortly before 2 p.m.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
Someone parked in the Natural Science lot reported Thursday around 10 p.m. that his or her car window had been broken. Police later determined that gravel trucks spraying gravel caused the damage.
FOUND
Someone turned in some money found in the Rasmuson Library on Nov. 17 at 1:15 p.m.
Later, around 11:30 p.m., someone turned in a credit card they found.
LOST
Someone reported a lost credit card Nov. 27 at 4 pm.
