SEXUAL ASSAULT

Police are investigating a report of a sexual assault that occurred Oct. 1 at night in Bartlett Hall.

DEAD DUCK

Police received a report Oct. 3 of a wild duck that had been shot in the head by an arrow and left of a porch at the Cutler Apartments for a week.

Police took the duck to a veterinary clinic, where it was euthanized.

Police forwarded the case to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services.

The person responsible was cited for violating federal fish and wildlife statutes, police said.

DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR

Police received a report Friday at 9:30 a.m. of a woman being disruptive in the Wood Center. Josephine Dayton, 21, of Koyukuk had stated she had a knife, according to the original report.

When officers detained Dayton, she pulled out a small knife and other potential weapons, police said.

Police took her into protective custody. Police brought her to Fairbanks Correctional Center, where she was arrested for harassment after she caused trouble during the booking process, police said.

GIRL FIGHT

Police received a report Friday after 9 a.m. of two females fighting in Bartlett Hall.

Police arrested Tracy Augustine, 23, for domestic assault after discovering she had allegedly hurt a relative. Police took her to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

Police also cited the victim for minor consuming alcohol.

VEHICLE ACCIDENTS

Police received a report Oct. 1 of a hit-and-run at the Cutler Apartments.

Police found a suspected vehicle parked and unoccupied. Its owner, Travis Duft, 19, was found in his room and registered a .227 breath analysis concentration, police said.

Police arrested him for driving under the influence, underage drinking, and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

Police received a report of a car hitting a child on a bicycle on Oct. 2 around 4:30 p.m. Police say the child did not yield to the vehicle and ran into it.

The bicyclist was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for minor scratches.

MARIJUANA

Police stopped a vehicle Sept. 30 around 9:45 p.m. for not stopping at a stop sign.

Upon inspection, an officer smelled and observed signs that marijuana was in use in the vehicle, police said.

Police brought a drug-sniffing dog to the scene. The dog smelled marijuana, police said.

Police cited and released the driver, Thomas Tracey, 20, and a passenger, Daniel Murrell, 21.

HARASSMENT

Police received a report Oct. 1 of harassment the night before during the Starvation Gulch bonfires.

Police called the suspected harrasser, who agreed to never again contact the complainant.
