New Computer Terminals Purchased, Installation in Dorms to Follow

By Pam Carson

Eight computer terminals, recently purchased by ASUA, will be added to the two already located in UAF dormitories as soon as installation plans are completed.

Eric Jozwiak, student housing officer, said that the delay resulted from delays in three areas: student housing, the geophysical institute and the physical plant.

"The original plan was to have everything ready to go by the beginning of this semester," he said. "But we (student housing) had a priority to get the students settled in."

The necessary wiring and drilling of holes for installation will be done by the geophysical institute's electric shop and paid for by the physical plant, he said.

Approximately $7,500 was spent on the model M-912 televideos. They were approved by last year's ASUA senate but could not be purchased until the new budget went into effect in July of this year.

Stevens, MacIntosh, Wickersham, and Nerland dormitories will each receive one terminal. Bartlett and Moore will each receive two because of their size. None will be installed in Lathrop or Skarland because they each already have one.
