SEXUAL ASSAULT

Police received a report Sept. 24 at about 9 p.m. of a sexual assault in Stevens Hall.

The victim did not want to press charges against the known assailant but just wanted to report it, police said.

TRAFFIC STOPS

Police pulled-over a vehicle Sept. 23 at 1 a.m. at the intersection Thompson Drive and Geist Road for an equipment violation, police said. Police said the driver, James Simmerman, 17, was driving under the influence of alcohol and registered a .139 breath alcohol concentration.

Police arrested Simmerman and transported him to Fairbanks Youth Facility. He was charged with minor consuming and minor operating after consuming.

While returning from the Fairbanks Youth Facility, the same officer stopped a vehicle for no headlights at about 3 a.m. on University Avenue. The officer found the driver, George Millington, 20, was driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. He registered a .200 breath alcohol concentration, police said.

Police charged Millington with minor consuming and minor operating after consuming.

Police stopped a vehicle Sept. 23 around 11:45 p.m. for several traffic infractions, police said. The driver, James Geer, 28, of Nenana was on probation for drug violations, police said. Police searched him and found a small baggie of marijuana, police said. Police arrested Geer for violating his probation and possessing a controlled substance.

CELL PHONE

Police received a report Sept. 25 of a stolen cell phone from the Cutler Apartments. Police said the thief has been identified and charges have been forwarded to the district attorney's office.

MINOR CONSUMING

UAF police assisted Alaska State Troopers on Sept. 26 after receiving a report of minors drinking and then driving away from the Holiday Gas Station on Geist Road.

Police spotted the vehicle on University Avenue. Alex Hopper, 17, was cited for underage drinking and driving after consuming.

Police also cited three underage passengers for minor consuming and curfew violations, police said. All were released to their parents.

While escorting one of them to his home, police contacted Cody Mikesell, 16, and discovered he had a warrant for his arrest. Police arrested him and transported him to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

TROUBLE SLEEPING

Police checked on a vehicle idling along the sidewalk on University Avenue on Thursday.

Rowdie Sinderud, 22, was asleep at the wheel, police said. He had a revoked license and had been driving under the influence, police said.

He registered a .235 breath alcohol concentration, police said.

He also had a handgun in the center console, police said. Police arrested him.
