FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS
A Feb. 23 traffic stop on University Avenue (due to equipment violation) turned up an AK-47 assault rifle that was found to have a length shorter than the required minimum. Misconduct involving weapons charges are pending against the driver.
ART OF PARKING
Police were informed of a reckless driver who pulled off the road and parked in the Fine Arts lot Feb. 17 at about 2:30 p.m. Officers contacted the driver, 29-year-old Jason P. Sanders of Fairbanks, who was sitting behind the wheel of the running vehicle, and was found to have a .288 breath alcohol content. He was arrested.
MUSIC LOVER?
The theft of a CD player from an unlocked car at the upper dorms was reported Feb. 17.
The theft of CDs from a vehicle parked in the upper Moore lot was reported Feb. 17.
The theft of an in-dash CD player from a vehicle parked at the upper Moore lot was reported Feb. 18.
A CD player was reported stolen from a car parked at the Harper lot Feb. 20.
BUS FIGHT!
Officers responded to a fight on a MACS bus Feb. 18. Five of the six individuals contacted were trespassed from UAF.
BAD DOG
A traffic stop on Feb. 18 at 2:23 a.m. turned up an outstanding warrant for the driver, Kevin W. Stowell, 22, of Fairbanks. He was arrested and taken to FCC, and his car was subjected to search-by-dog. The dog "positively alerted"s on Stowell's vehicle, and he was charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance.

A fall due to slippery sidewalks at Lola Tilly Commons was reported Feb.19.
SAY MY NAME!
During a traffic stop for speeding in the early Morning hours of Feb. 23, a female passenger repeatedly gave false personal information and eventually admitted to being Jennifer E. Loving, 27, of Fairbanks. Loving, who was on felony probation, was arrested for making a false report and taken to jail where a small quantity of marijuana was found.
BOOT JACKED
Police received a report of a theft of a vehicle boot from a vehicle at Hess Village Feb. 23. The driver was located at his residence and the broken boot recovered. Police are investigating the incident and criminal charges may be filed.
JERKY BOYS
Two 911 hang-up calls were received from a residence in Lathrop Hall. Responding officers contacted the occupants who were underage and had been drinking. Two of them were cited for Minor Consuming Alcohol.
