GOING (BACK) TO TOK A violent and disoriented man, who is not a UAF student, was arrested at Lathrop Hall around 1 a.m. Jan. 23. Tok resident Doren L. Sanford was asked to leave, but did not. Responding officers found Sanford in a shouting match with a student, and due to his inebriated state, he was restrained pending Title 47 protective custody. After Sanford began resisting and fighting the officers, he was arrested for disorderly conduct. GUN ONBOARD After a traffic stop for an equipment violation on Yukon Drive around 2 a.m. Jan. 26, police arrested a Fairbanks man for driving under the influence and weapons misconduct. Robert J. Carter registered a .146 breath alcohol content. A handgun was also located in the vehicle. FOUNTAINS OF YOUTH A vomiting passenger in a vehicle on Tanana Loop was observed mid-puke around 2 a.m. Jan. 21. Three passengers in the vehicle were found to be intoxicated under the legal age. They were all cited for minor consuming and released. A highly intoxicated woman at Skarland Hall was reported around 3 a.m. Jan. 21. Responding officers contacted Rhonda M. Korth and found her to be in need of medical assistance. EMS responded and gave Korth aid. She was cited for habitual minor consuming. DEFROST A RASTA Police arrested a driver on the Johansen Expressway Jan. 20 after stopping him for almost causing an accident. A police report noted that the vehicle's windshield was frosted over. Delta Junction resident John M. Bass, 26, was found to be violating conditions of his probation by being outside of Delta without permission. A passenger, Jeffery S. Thurman of North Pole, was found to be in possession of marijuana. Thurman was also arrested. ODDS AND ENDS A man known to have a warrant out for his arrest was reported at the Wood Center Jan. 24. Ryan C. Rankin, 21, was arrested. Vandalism to a vehicle in the Cutler parking lot was reported Jan. 24. A suspect was developed but could not be conclusively proven. The matter was turned over the Dean of Students. Telephone harassment at UAF was reported Jan. 24. After further investigation, the matter was determined not to be criminal and turned over to the Dean of Students A laptop was reported stolen from a Residence Life office Jan. 26 |
