President Joe Blanchard remarked that ASUAF no longer has a lawyer, so the free legal advice provided by the association is temporarily suspended. Government Relations Director Josiah Marineau distributed postcards for anyone interested to collect signatures in support of full funding for the UA system. Senator Nick Brewer remarked that KSUA might lose the weekly hockey broadcasts to New Northwest Broadcasters. Gavin Northey, a student, was appointed to chair the Food for Thought Committee, which will act as a go-between for anyone with comments or complaints about the UAF Dining Services program. Three pieces of legislation were introduced and sent to committees for discussion. Five pieces of legislation were voted on by the Senate. SB-166-02B, which would spend up to $7,000 to send students to Juneau to lobby for full funding for the University system, passed 8-2, with four abstentions. SR-165-022A, which would call on the faculty to hold midterm exams before the withdrawal date for classes, passed 11-1. SB-166-005, which recovered unspent funds from the previous semester's student travel account, passed 14-0. SB-166-007A, which would purchase a prize for the Student Organizations Fair, passed 9-4, with one abstention. SB-166-008A, which would have changed the Senate's meeting day to Saturday, failed 0-13. The ASUAF Senate meets weekly on Sunday evenings at 5 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, and are generally held in the Wood Center's Conference Room E/F.
