There was discussion about the correctness of the minutes from last week's meeting, specifically regarding the comments of members of the USUAA government participating via teleconference. Senator Myles Redfox resigned for personal reasons. The KSUA Semester Review will be at the Jan. 21 meeting of the Media Board. The ASUAF Election results have been officiated. They are:
Referendum Question: Should the Wood Center continue to sell cigarettes? YES: 180 NO: 63 The Quote of the Semester was: "I'm not responsible for the things that come out of my mouth." -Sen. April Blandford, 11 Dec., 2005. The following Legislation was considered: Six pieces of legislation were introduced in first reading, and sent to committees for discussion. SB-165-036A, which authorizes a Masquerade Ball event to be held in the spring, passed 16-0. SB-165-040A, which adds definitions to the ASUAF Bylaws, passed 15-0. SB-165-043A, which would have given the Senate the power to declare war, was amended, and then failed as SB-165-043B by a vote of 4-10. SB-165-044A, which makes changes to the Senate's absence policy, was amended, and passed as SB-165-044B by a vote of 9-2. SB-165-048, which would have provided free tickets to the final games of the Governor's Cup hockey series, was failed 5-7. The Senate meets weekly throughout the semester, on Sundays at 5 p.m., usually in the Wood Center's conference room E/F. This was the last meeting for the Fall semester, but the Senate will resume Jan. 22.
