Senate happenings: December 4

 


 

A teleconference between the ASUAF Senate and two members of the USUAA Government about the latter's proposed contribution of $1 to the statewide Coalition of Student Leaders. ASUAF prepared a senate resolution as a response.

The following four students were appointed and confirmed to the ASUAF Media Board: Peter Prokein, Elizabeth Smith, Vincent Castro and Dani Carlson. The Media board oversees KSUA, and will meet Saturday Dec. 10 at 1 p.m.

Eleven pieces of legislation were considered by the Senate.


SB165-043, which would give the Senate the power to declare war, was referred to the Internal Affairs committee.

SB165-044, which would make changes to the Senate's absence policy, was referred to the Internal Affairs committee.

SD165-002, which directed ASUAF President Joe Blanchard to update plaques in the ASUAF office, passed 12-0.

SB165-038A, which concerns the footnotes in the ASUAF bylaws, was passed by a vote of 13-0.

SB165-039A, which also concerns the footnotes in the ASUAF bylaws, was amended, and passed as SB165-039B 5-4.

SB165-041A, which would provide cough drops for students, was passed 15-1.

SB165-042A, which concerns ASUAF election campaigning, was referred to the Internal Affairs committee.

SR165-015A, which encourages the University to consider alternative fuel sources, was amended, and passed as SR165-015B 9-0.

SR165-018A, which encourages the University to synchronize the clocks on campus was passed 11-0.

SR165-019A, was passed by unanimous consent.

SR165-020, which recognizes the local businesses participating in the Student Saver Program, was passed 12-0.
