Puzzled (or not) What the hell is going on? I miss the Sun Star. I always do the crossword puzzle Tuesday nights, but this week I could just cry since the Sun Star wasn't out. Erik Wickström Sorry about that. Every year we take a week off for Thanksgiving so our reporters and photographers don't have to work over the holiday. It's good to know we have such dedicated readers! –Ed. Seeking clarity I don't mean to be a pain, but I would like to clear up something you said in your editorial [Sun Star Nov. 22]. "Besides the free coffee and tea service and last year's short-lived glass recycling program, I have yet to see a single program come out of ASUAF that has benefited me personally." Am I understanding correctly that you are saying you don't consider your paycheck and the experience you will gain from your current job to be benefiting you personally? Last time I checked, the Sun Star was funded by advertising and a 7 percent cut of the ASUAF budget. Andrea Devers ASUAF Senator I do consider my paycheck (which is not signed by ASUAF) and the experience to be a benefit. However, I was referring to programs implemented by ASUAF since I became a student. My apologies for the misunderstanding and thanks for the chance to clear that up. I'm also sorry for the jabs, but our job is to be impartial and skeptical, and ASUAF's job is to prove me wrong. –Ed. |
