Havlova has it UAF's Pavla Havlova earned all-region honors in cross-country running after the regional championships last weekend. Havlova will represent UAF for the first time at the NCAA Division II Cross-Country Running Championships in Prado Park, CA Nov. 19. No snow This weekend's NorAm ski meet in Anchorage was cancelled due to a lack of snow. This follows last weeks' partial cancellation in Fairbanks due to cold weather. The events have been rescheduled for Dec. 10 and 11. Hockey signs a recruit The UAF Hockey team has signed its first recruit for the 2006-2007 season. Brandon Campos is a 5'10”, 185-pound forward who has played strongly in the British Columbia Hockey League. “Brandon Campos is a great skater,” said UAF Coach Tavis MacMillan. “He can skate down the ice at full speed and then jump left or right horizontally. He has great agility and he will be able to make an immediate impact for us just with his skating.” Campos is currently fourth in the BCHL in points per game, with an average of 1.8. |
