Last weekend, the UAF women's cross-country running team tied for 6th at the GNAC Championships. The men's team finished 10th. Senior Pavla Havlova won the women's 6 km race with a time of 22:15, and Johanna Turunen finished sixth with 23:03. Havlova is UAF's first-ever individual champion in the five-year history of the GNAC Cross Country championships. The UAF women tied the Vikings of Western Washington University for sixth place, with a score of 148 points. The Falcons of Seattle Pacific University won the championship, scoring 54 points. In the men's 8 km race, Erik Wickstrom finished 34th, in 27:38, and Harald Aas finished 38th, with a time of 27:45. The men's team finished 10th overall, with a score of 236 points.
