Financial Aid Update |

|
It seems that the Financial Aid office didn't appreciate my editorial last week—which doesn't really surprise me. I was impressed with how quickly they acted to look into the problem, moving with astoundingly unbureaucratic efficiency. I had a very nice chat with Tamara Hornbuckle, one of the co-directors of the Financial Aid office. She asserts that they did send me an email—their records say so. But the email address they sent it to is one that I check at least 20 times a day, and my records (that I emphatically trust) show that I never received it. That being said, it is entirely possible that my spam protection deleted the message, thinking that it was a porn ad or other such nonsense that clutters my life. But my spam protection barely protects me against real spam, letting all sorts of unsolicited emails through, why would it start being diligent now? I was rather harsh in my editorial, but that was merely an expression of the frustration I was feeling. I am glad that my words, though emotional, opened the lines of communication between the Financial Aid office and myself. At least now I know how to get the Financial Aid office's attention the next time I need to get a hold of them. —RD
