Letters to the Editor

Yes, in answer to the begging and pleading you did a few weeks ago, I, Robin Knight, read the Sun Star. I read the Sun Star every week from start to finish while enjoying some coffee up in my dorm room.

You see Mr. Duffy, your newspaper gives me a chance to find out what will be, what is, and what has been going around on campus. I quite enjoyed the article on Condom Week and laughed when I found out that I could have received a banana split for putting a condom on a banana the right way. I enjoy the holiday movie article things you put in, advising students to get more out of their Halloween or Valentine's Day by watching classics such as "The Exorcist" or "Thelma and Louise."

I find out how sports are going for the Nanooks even though I am not the biggest fan of sports, I read my horoscope, and I find out what's going on in government so that I know if and what I have to worry about when it comes to being a student here. Bottom line, I like the paper. Don't stop printing it, because I look forward to it every week.

Yes I do read all the articles, except the sports. I never read the sports in any newspaper. I really liked the Floyd talk, please talk more about musicians who are great but just don't get a lot of radio play. Eels is truly the best band in the whole world. Every time I make my friends listen to Eels they end up buying one of their albums. They are coming out with a 2-CD set in April.

I mostly like reading the police reports because I like laughing at idiots. This newspaper is always more entertaining than UAA's newspaper.

Keep up the good work.

I have been a faithful weekly reader of the "Sun Star" since the first week I was on campus—someone who actually sits down, reads the articles, and (usually) appreciates them. I genuinely enjoy, and actually look forward to, the paper coming out every week.

I have to give special kudos for the fine article on Jon Stewart's book. He's one of my heroes and "Naked Pictures of Famous People" is one of my all time favorite books. Stewart truly possesses one of the finest and wittiest minds alive today. Seeing an article about him in the Sun Star really made my day.

Thank you for continuing to keep track of university expenditures and what exactly our hard-earned student loan money is being spent on. I find it very disheartening when someone, especially my school wants more and more money, while offering less and less services. (I am talking about the decision to do away with free off campus student Internet access at the same time that tuition prices are going up, up and away.)

The examples go on and on. What gives?
