Letter to the Editor

It seems odd that the recent Nuclear Regulatory Commission meetings held recently in Galena have not been mentioned in other newspapers, and only few reports have come across the radio waves. It has been suggested that a nuclear reactor be tested there and has not been tested elsewhere. Tribal leaders have added their input, and mention has been given to what to do with the nuclear waste such an operation produces.

For the record, I am an Alaskan Native male, born and raised here, a true-blooded Alaskan at heart. I don't want nuclear waste, or possible radioactive catastrophe killing our environment if that reactor fails. I am game to protesting against their efforts and support student activism even if it means getting arrested trying to stop them before they try another Project Chariot in our homeland. Say no to the Nukes!
