DISGRUNTLED DUDE DOES DAMAGE A man allegedly rammed his car into a woman's vehicle at the West Ridge Research Building just before midnight Dec. 2. He then destroyed several items in her office and departed. Officers later found and interviewed the man, and arrested him for assault and two counts of criminal mischief.
ASS, GAS, OR GRASS An intoxicated female was dropped off at the Police Department around 3 a.m. Nov. 23. She stated that some people had left her there because she did not want to have sex with them, and that another female was still in the vehicle. The other female was found safe in her room, and the first female was taken into protective custody because of her level of intoxication. She was also cited for minor consuming.
THE STONED YOUTH After stopping to investigate a vehicle parked at the Musk Ox Farm Nov. 25, an officer found Noel Camp, 21, to be in possession of marijuana. Camp had allegedly provided some to a juvenile female who was also in the vehicle, and he was charged for having a controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The girl was cited for violating curfew and turned over to her parents.
CRACKLING BOOKS Police investigated a fire under the Fairbanks Street Bridge Nov. 27. Two juveniles there told an officer they were studying for a test. JUST SAY WHOAH A vehicle weaving down Sheep Creek Road just after midnight Nov. 25 was stopped and the driver, Joshua M. Harrod, 24, was found to be intoxicated. He registered a .198 breath alcohol content and was taken to jail. "RUN!" Four teenagers ran from a community service officer after being spotted in the Irving Building around 12:30 a.m. Nov. 14. YOUR MOM WAS HERE Graffiti was reported on several buildings throughout campus Dec. 1. HUNDRED DOLLA' BILLS Y'ALL UAF's drug sniffing dog, Briko, assisted the Drug Enforcement Administration Nov. 29 in smelling some cash they had seized. Briko indicated the presence of the odor of narcotics on the money. RUCKUS Screaming and pounding from an apartment in Hess Village brought police to the area Nov. 22. They found that a verbal domestic fight had taken place. CRIMINAL CARIBOU UAF police assisted the Alaska State Troopers at the Large Animal Research Station Nov. 21 with the recovery of a cash register stolen from a local business. GRAND THEFT UH-OH Police thought they had discovered a stolen vehicle on campus Nov. 26 before finding out that it had been impounded at the request of an insurance company as a civil, and not criminal, matter. IT STILL HURTS A domestic violence assault at Bartlett Hall was reported Nov. 22, several days after it happened. An investigation ensued, and charges are pending. D) ALL OF THE ABOVE A vehicle weaving and driving erratically was stopped on Farmers Loop Road around 1:30 a.m. Nov. 27. The driver, 18-year-old Stephen E. Carlton of Ft. Wainwright, was found to be intoxicated, registering a .172 breath alcohol content. Due to being underage, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated, minor consuming, and minor operating a vehicle after consuming. |
