Thank you Robinson Duffy for a thoughtful and thorough response to Kentrell Fruge's letter about depression and the death of one of our students. So many of the problems that afflict students are preventable or remediable--from depression, to homesickness, addiction, social unease, school failure, disappointment in love. As you cite, there are resources on campus more than willing to help: the health and counseling center, chaplains, advisors, even a prudent friend. Don't be afraid or ashamed to seek another's counsel; we all need assistance at times to help us over the bumps. We are here for one another.
