Dear
Editor of the Sun Star,
Although
there have been some great book reviews in the past, I've recently
noticed
that there haven't been any in the publication in sometime. This is
disappointing
to the readers out there who read books regularly and are
interested
in knowing other's opinions about read books and also what's good and what's a
waste of time for books they have not read. I, and others I
know,used
to enjoy reading these and thought that they made a nice addition to the rest of
the Sun Star. Even if one is not interested in reading the books,
the
reviews are interesting reading material anyways. I have noticed, despite
the
lack of any good book reviews, your publication still manages to display
movie
reviews on a regular basis. This is simply not fair, as not everybody goes to
the movies. It's also simply not fair to the intelectual individuals out there
who would like to see some of that valuable paper space used [that is currently
used for crappy movie reviews] for something intelectually
stimulating.
I believe that our campus's newspaper should adequately
represent
the interests of all of the student body. Adding book reviews to the
publication
would be a huge step in the right direction. Please concider
publishing
book reviews in the Sun Star as a regular part of the paper -
they
have been missed!
