The Razzies!

And the winners are…the worst movies of the year!

In a ceremony held twenty-four hours before that other awards show—you know, the one with the naked gold guy—"Gigli" was honored as the Worst Picture of 2003.

The Affleck/Lopez box-office bomb also walked away with Worst Actor (Affleck), Worst Actress (Lopez), Worst Director (Martin Brest), Worst Screenplay (Brest), and Worst Screen Couple.

That impressive showing made "Gigli" the first movie to capture all six of the major awards.

The annual awards, known as the Golden Raspberries, honor all the slop that Hollywood has to offer.  Founded by John Wilson, a self-proclaimed cynic, movie lover, and author of "Everything I Know I Learned at the Movies," the Razzies (as they are affectionately known) are celebrating their 25th year giving horrible movies their just desserts.

The nominees and winners are determined by the 617 Golden Raspberry Foundation members (you too can become one at www.razzies.com!).  The not-so-coveted award is a handcrafted raspberry, spray painted gold, sitting atop a mangled reel of Super 8 film.  Street price: $4.89

The highly anticipated, but disappointing, "Gigli" beat out contenders "The Cat In The Hat," "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," "From Justin To Kelly," and "The Real Cancun" to walk away with the Worst Picture prize.

Other winners on the evening included Worst Supporting Actor Sylvester Stallone ("Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over"), and Worst Supporting Actress Demi Moore ("Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle").  "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" captured the Worst Remake or Sequel, and "The Cat In the Hat" took home an award for the Worst Excuse for an Actual Movie.  A special Governor's Award for Distinguished Under-Achievement in Choreography was given to Travis Payne for his work on "From Justin to Kelly."

None of the winners or nominees attended the hour-long ceremony held Saturday night in the Penthouse Suite of the 4-Points/Sheraton Hotel in Santa Monica, California.
