Culinary Arts Food Experience!

For Kids Only!

Profile: Marsha Munsell has maintained a lifelong interest in the preparation of healthy and tasty foods. Whether as a camp cook in a remote mining camp, a chef at Pike’s or a baker at the Cookie Jar, Marsha’s focus has always been on serving up hearty and wholesome fare. For the past 18 years Marsha has worked as a Nutrition Educator for Cooperative Extension at UAF. She has taught cooking classes for all ages in a variety of cuisines. As the mother of two grown children and recently a proud grandmother, Marsha comes fully equipped with the knowledge, humor and experience to keep young people on task.

CAFE Kids’ Cooking Camp

Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–Noon

Ages 6–9 with a limit of 20 students
Fee: $225.00

Fun food that YOU can make and eat is the focus of this camp. Bake biscuits, pretzels, muffins and tortillas. Cook individual casseroles and make ice cream, cream cheese playdough, and freezer jam. In the process learn kitchen safety and etiquette, food presentation, and how to clean up efficiently. On the last day invite two guests to an English Tea Party with you as the host/hostess.  Register here.

CAFE Tween International Culinary Arts Workshop

Ages 10-12 with a limit of 20 students
Fee: $225.00

Are you a pre-teen looking for culinary adventures beyond the usual refridgerator raid? This class will take you on an international tour of recipes from Africa, France, Japan, Spain and the USA. Prepare, present and consume culinary delights from each country’s cuisines while learning the basics of food safety, kitchen etiquette, and clean-up. Invite two guests to the final class.  Register here.

CAFE Teen International Culinary Arts Academy

Ages 13–17 with a limit of 20 students
Fee: $225.00

A culinary adventure for teens! Explore different recipes form Africa, France, Japan, Spain and the USA. Learn a variety of cooking methods along with kitchen safety, etiquette, food safety and presentation. Consume the creative results with gusto. A demonstration of skills will be presented on the last day of class for up to two invited guests.  Register here.
