Visit the world-renowned Geophysical Institute, where scientists study everything from the center of the earth to the center of the sun. Learn about the Alaska Satellite Facility’s polar-orbiting satellites and the Alaska Volcano Observatory. Meet in the Elvey Building lobby. Each year the Georgeson Botanical Garden (GBG) tests more than 300 cultivars of annual flowering plants and thousands of perennials. Visit the extensive gardens during the summer to enjoy the wide variety of plants that grow in this northern climate.
