See muskoxen, caribou, and reindeer close-up. Discover the world of these unique animals. Take Farmer’s Loop Road to Ballaine Road, turn left on Yankovich Road. The research station is one mile on the right. All-hours viewing of the animals is available throughout the year. Visit the Cold Climate Housing Research Center (CCHRC), a state of the art facility that promotes the development, use, and testing of energy efficient, durable, healthy, and cost effective building technologies for Alaska and the world’s cold climate regions. Each year the GBG tests over 300 cultivars of annual flowering plants and thousands of perennials. Visit the extensive gardens during the summer to enjoy the wide variety of plants that grow in this northern climate.
