Junior Firefighters

Investigate the types of work that firefighters perform, including emergency medical care, rescue, and firefighting. Activities may include practicing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and cardiac defibrillation, observing the use of powered rescue tools, and using firefighting equipment such as hand tools, fire hoses, and ladders. Participants will work alongside the firefighters performing station upkeep, house-keeping, and daily equipment checks.

Learn how a camera functions, the basic concepts of composition and how to use them, and basic post processing techniques. The day begins with a discussion of elements of photography in the clasroom, then students will create photographs around campus. Students will be encouraged to experiment with the knowledge and skills they learn in creating thoughtful, successful, and dynamic images for a final portfolio. After each shoot, students will return to the classroom for editing and toning their images. Students must provide their own digital camera.
