Housing and Food
Residence Life
University of Alaska students registered for one or more credits during Summer Sessions are eligible to live in university housing during the dates of their course(s). UAF residence halls offer a scenic view of the Alaska Range and Mount McKinley, also known as Denali, the highest peak in North America.
Residence Halls
The residence halls feature double occupancy, single, and double single rooms (room built for two, occupied by one). Each room includes hookups for local telephone access, cable TV, and internet. Residents provide their own telephone, television, and computer with ethernet card. Each room is furnished with an extra long twin bed, desk, chair, dresser, shelving, and closet. Residents provide their own linens, or may purchase a linen packet through Residence Life.
Wickersham Hall has suite style rooms with two sleeping rooms sharing a half-bath and common room. Each floor has showers and a common kitchen. There are lounges and a laundry room in the building. Wickersham is located on lower campus near the Wood Center.
Bartlett is a traditional residence hall with a common bathroom and lounge on each floor. The hall has a common kitchen, laundry room, and recreation room on the main floor. The Moore-Bartlett-Skarland (MBS) Complex is located on upper campus near the Natural Sciences Building. The Conference Services desk, located in the MBS Complex, is open 24 hours each day during the summer months beginning mid-May, and is the check-in station for all summer residents.
Students under 18 years of age who wish to stay in campus residence halls need approval from the Department of Residence Life, and should apply at least one month prior to arrival.
