Alaska Native Knowledge Network
The Alaska Native Knowledge Network serves as a resource for Native people, government agencies, educators and the general public in gaining access to the knowledge base that Alaska Natives have acquired over millenniums.
The Alaska Native Knowledge Network produces and distributes materials and publications and is home to an extensive library of curriculum resources catalogued by cultural themes. Publications, materials, and curriculum resources can be viewed in person and online.

Alaska Native Language Center
The Alaska Native Language Center (ANLC) is devoted to research, teaching, and publishing in Alaska’s 20 Native languages. The ANLC archive of 10,000 paper documents and 5,000 audio and video tapes is the most comprehensive collection of Alaska Native language material in the world.
Publications are available in local bookstores or directly from ANLC. Staff are available to show the archive and speak with visitors about Alaska languages and topics such as language maintenance and revitalization.

Alaska Sea Grant
Alaska Sea Grant (ASG) funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrarion and the State of Alaska supports research in marine-related subjects, produces educational publications and videos about Alaska’s seas and coasts, and convenes scientific conferences. ASG also works with community members on economic and social issues related to the conservation and wise use of marine and coastal resources through a network of 15 Marine Advisory Program agents and specialists located in ten coastal communities from Nome to Ketchikan.

Alaska Teacher Placement
The Alaska Teacher Placement (ATP) program mission is to provide leadership in identifying, attracting, and placing highly-qualified educators in Alaska. ATP works with Alaska’s school districts, university leaders, and other educational entities to promote the teaching profession in Alaska.

UAF Bookstore
The UAF Bookstore has textbooks and a large selection of general reading materials, study aids, calculators, personal care items, greeting cards, clothing, and gift items.
Textbooks are for sale throughout the summer. Full refunds on textbooks are available within seven days of the start of class. A register receipt is required, and books must be in the same condition as when purchased. The bookstore offers buy back of most books for 20–50% of the new price at the end of the summer semester. The bookstore is closed for annual inventory June 27–30.

Summer jobs in a variety of areas are available for students. Student employment is a valuable tool in learning new skills, connecting to the university, and developing a network of professionals that can help you in the future. A Career Services counselor can help in the process of finding student employment on campus as well as reviewing the employment application prior to submission. Disability Services
The Disability Services office provides services to students who have documented disabilities protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The goal of the office is to ensure equal access to educational opportunities at UAF. Services are free and available to any student who is eligible and enrolled in at least one credit hour.
Disability Services maintains adaptive computer workstations at several places on campus. Workstations include voice activated software, screen enlargers and screen readers. UAF has an accessible shuttle bus service equipped with a wheelchair lift for transportation on campus. Most campus buildings and some residence halls are accessible.

Elderhostel
Fairbanks Denakkanaaga
Fairbanks Denakkanaaga Elderhostel is an Alaskan Native organization offering educational tourism programs for people 55 or older, along with their companion of any age. Lectures, presentations, and daily field trips provide a broad range of information on Fairbanks and other areas of Alaska.
Summer programs run for 7 to 11 nights with meals, housing and travel within Alaska included. Choose from offerings going north from Fairbanks into the Arctic all the way to Prudhoe Bay and the Arctic Ocean; going south on the railroad with overnight stays in Denali, Anchorage, and Seward, traveling the whole length of the Alaska Railroad route; or go west to Nome.

Map Office
The Geophysical Institute Map Office carries Alaska maps including topographic and thematic maps published by the USGS. State, country and world maps are also available for sale.
Other items available include topographic maps of western Canada, nautical charts of Prince William Sound and Kachemak Bay, geologic maps, space and aurora posters, books and slides, plastic raised relief maps, maps on CD ROM, and select National Geographic posters. Visa, Mastercard accepted as well as checks and cash. Office hours are 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
Drawing on the experience and talents of older people (50+) in the Fairbanks area, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks offers new opportunities for continued learning. PolarExpress ID Card
The PolarExpress card is the official UAF identification card. It provides access to computer labs, Rasmuson Library services, university housing, Student Recreation Center, and student activities. New students pick up their PolarExpress cards approximately one week before Summer Sessions begins. Students must have registered for classes 24 hours prior and must have a picture ID with them to obtain a card.
BearBucks (purchased cash value) can be deposited on the PolarExpress card at the PolarExpress Office. BearBucks may be used at all campus dining services locations, vending machines, photocopiers, the Wood Center counter, and the bookstore.

Public Broadcasting
KUAC TV and FM are public television and radio stations located on the UAF campus.
KUAC radio broadcasts on 89.9 FM providing programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week, throughout the Interior. The statewide AlaskaOne Network, including KUAC TV 9 and Digital Television provides quality, non-commercial television programming that creates an environment of cultural and educational enrichment.

Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union offers a full line of banking services at four branches in the Fairbanks area. The UAF campus branch is located in Wood Center. Summer hours for the campus branch are noon to 5 p.m. Of the nine ATMs operated by the Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union, three are associated with the University. Student Radio Station
KSUA-FM, a student-operated college radio station located in Constitution Hall, serves the UAF campus and surrounding community broadcasting on 91.5 FM. KSUA can be heard throughout the Fairbanks area and as far away as Tok and Healy. Programming is student produced and available on the Internet at www.ksua.net.

Student Recreation Center
The Student Recreation Center (SRC) offers 3 multi-purpose courts on the main level, an elevated 1/8 mile running track, lifecycles, stairmasters, rowing machines, Gravitron, cross training kayak machine, an aerobics area, an indoor climbing wall, hammer strength stations, Nautilus stations, free weights, stretching areas, and 45 intramural activities that take place throughout the year. Outside the SRC there are soccer and ultimate frisbee fields and numerous trails for cross-country running. A second pair of shoes is required for entry into the SRC.

Wood Center
Wood Center is a focal point of campus activities and services available to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and university guests.
Services include campus information, dining facilities, a television area, meeting rooms, laundry and shower facilities, and a recreation area with a bowling alley, pool tables, and video games. Wood Center also hosts the Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union, an automatic teller machine (ATM), and lost and found.
