Summer courses from UAF Summer Sessions & Lifelong Learning (SSLL) offer you great higher education choices:

• Catch up on courses for your degree program. A whole semester can be completed in just 12 weeks!
• Take courses from faculty who are available only during the summer.
• Take courses on campus when it’s at its peak of beauty.

To encourage you to be part of Summer@UAF, we’re offering super academic and financial incentives.

We’ve gone to extra lengths to meet your academic needs. There are 50 core courses offered this summer. We’ve scheduled evening and weekend sections for those who are working during the day. New this summer are Introduction to Mammals, Introduction to Graminoids and Geology as a Detective Investigation. There are courses that get you out in the wilderness of Alaska like Beginning Rock Climbing and Alaska Soil Geography Field Study: Soils Affected by Permafrost. And we have the math, writing and speaking labs open for your use, free of
charge.

And have we got financial incentives! Check out our two newest financial assistance options:

• The R.G. & Onnie V. Bouchum/La Shina R. Jones Summer Scholarships provides two $500 scholarships specifically for eligible summer students.
• We’ve created the Sweet Summer Deal. It’s amazingly simple: undergraduate students who take up to 14 SSLL credits will pay for only ten (a whopping 28% discount on tuition). AND to further sweeten the deal, UAF Student Services is offering a similar discount on any student living in the dorms who is taking part in this program. You do need to apply for this program and meet these requirements: you must be taking over ten SSLL credits; you need to be in good academic standing (minimum of a 2.0 GPA); and you have to pass all your classes with a “C” or better. It’s an unbeatable deal!

And we continue our other programs: in-state tuition for ALL students, SSLL three-credit tuition awards and the Earn and Learn program to help you find a campus job while taking summer classes.
